On December 4, 2021, BIÉDE opened its first showroom store, BIÉDE MINAMIAOYAMA, in Minamiaoyama, Tokyo. The site was STEIN BOX, the gallery space operated by KLEINSTEIN.
The place was made to bring products previously seen online into the hand, allowing their relationship with the body to be understood. This page is a record of the opening.
A showroom born from a story
BIÉDE publishes a story with each collection. BIÉDE MINAMIAOYAMA began by bringing into a physical place the time, slightly removed from the everyday, experienced by the story's protagonist.
At the opening, every piece from COLLECTION 02 and COLLECTION 01 was shown alongside photographs made for BIÉDE by Quentin Shih. Sales remained online, while the showroom offered a place to understand form, weight and ways of carrying.

COLLECTION 01 / 02
At the opening, YELLOW EDGE and BLACK EDGE bags were placed together: one set outlined by a line of colour, the other with the line receding into black. The same forms could be compared within a single space.

KLEINSTEIN and Quentin Shih
KLEINSTEIN, responsible for BIÉDE's brand management and creative direction, was founded by Yusuke Koishi and Miki Koishi in 2014.
Quentin Shih is a visual artist, photographer and filmmaker based in Beijing. Since COLLECTION 01, he has translated BIÉDE's stories into photographs.
