ジェンダーレスなプロダクト・レーベル「BIÉDE（ビエダ）」はファースト・コレクションの発表にあたり、北京在住の中国を代表する写真家の一人である、Quentin Shih（クエンティン・シー) とのコラボレーションを行いました。展示会ではファースト・コレクションとともに、BIÉDEのコレクションストーリーを基に撮影されたQuentin Shihの作品を展示します。彼の作品は日本国内では初の展示となります。 

BIÉDE COLLECTION 01 IN COLLABORATION WITH QUENTIN SHIH

For the presentation of its first collection, genderless product label BIÉDE collaborated with Quentin Shih, one of China's leading photographers, based in Beijing. Alongside the first collection, the exhibition presented BIÉDE's collection story through works photographed by Quentin Shih. It marked the first presentation of his work in Japan.
Visual artist and filmmaker Quentin Shih has contributed to art projects for numerous luxury houses, including Dior and Louis Vuitton. His work is distinguished by a singular use of colour, where narrative and critique coexist, and by a search for forms of expression that are neither Western nor a plainly Westernised, exoticised East.

BIÉDE is formed by a multinational creative team whose nationalities, genders and ages are undisclosed. One of the questions at the centre of BIÉDE is what it means to belong, or not belong, to a community.

In fashion, exhibitions are generally open only to a limited audience of buyers and press. For this presentation, BIÉDE opened the exhibition to the public for a period, offering the chance to encounter the work on site as well as off site, online. It has become ordinary to view art and products as images on the internet, but BIÉDE values the importance of communicating through the physical object, and through the real thing.

COLLABORATION ARTIST FOR BIÉDE COLLECTION 01 - QUENTIN SHIH 
Quentin Shih (Shi Xiaofan) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Beijing, China.
He has taken part in art projects for luxury houses including Dior and Louis Vuitton, and his work has been shown at BEIJING ART NOW GALLERY in Beijing, INCEPTION GALLERY in Paris, and Galerie XII Los Angeles, among others.
His recent work includes the photobook FAMILIARS (2019) and the feature film The Cafe by the Highway (2020).
